Have you noticed that things just seem different since the calendar changed to the new millennium? Are people and businesses in your surroundings wanting and trying to hold onto the old ways of doing things even though they simply are not working? Are others trying to change your ways even though they are working for you? Not only have things changed in the way we do business, the way we communicate but also in the way we treat each other.
When I first started to observe this change phenomenon in 2000 and early 2001 they were subtle, almost unnoticeable changes. Changes like eliminating pleasant greetings from our conversations, emails and phone calls. No “hello, how are you today” or “gosh, it is good to hear your voice.” If you receive emails, there are no salutations, just the hard information such as “here it is” with not as much as a pleasant goodbye, best regards or have a good day as a complimentary closing. Then there are the aggressive drivers cutting you off more frequently or rush to take the parking place you’ve been patiently waiting for. Included in this list also are phone calls not being returned, emails going unanswered and children losing all respect for parents, adults and their peers.
Then along came 9/11 and everything really changed. The energy that was slowly trying to shift here and there all of a sudden lurched forward into high gear. That was a cataclysmic shift of energy, both good and bad.
I didn’t think too much about it prior to then but now that we are seven years into the new millennium it is time to stop, look around and take notice of just what is going on our in world. It appears that hostile confrontation, condemnation and control of others are in and gentility, civility, politeness and being in control of self are out. Cell phone calls regularly interrupt conversations and concerts; people rudely interrupt others speaking even to the point of yelling over the other person, call waiting takes precedence over the existing call and, you can no longer have a personal opinion about anything unless it is politically correct. You are no longer acceptable to others unless You conform to their way of thinking, acting and doing business.
Positive Energy Bridges the Gap
If you are not prepared to accept the negative energy portion of the millennium shift but would rather live a hassle-free lifestyle filled with positive energy, then Feng Shui principles and positive energy are your bridge to a better tomorrow. There are three basic principles that will help you not only survive but thrive during this negative energy storm engulfing us.
Remember to stand on your truth. When your value system is based on the truth and not swayed by political correctness or someone else trying to control you by imposing their belief system on you, you will always be supported by your internal positive energy.
Re-evaluate your way of doing business, both personal and professional. If your actions and business practices serve you well and work for you, continue using them and do not let others change your “tried and true” operating procedures. If they need changing to provide you better energy, then change them. This re-evaluation process alone will provide you positive energy.
Restore any negative energy you’ve absorbed since the dramatic energy shifts began in the new millennium to positive energy by grounding yourself and your personal values. Place a rock or stone in the southwest corner of your desk, office, family room, patio or garden. Obviously the size will depend on the location but the symbolism will be the same. You are principled and “rock solid” standing on your truth knowing that if it serves you well it gives you positive energy; and if it is not giving you positive energy it is not serving you well and you will change.
Peace of mind comes from being independent and knowing that you are living a balanced lifestyle based on your principles and supported by positive energy. If you find yourself in a position of being hassled by others and them wanting to control you, it is time for you to stand on your truth and live your positive energy life in a way in which you are accountable for and to self. You then can make wise decisions as to how to handle others trying to impose their thoughts, political correctness and values upon you.
Feng Shui is all about the use of positive energy in your life to bring about desired results, in this case standing on your truth. By standing on your truth you can successfully bridge the energy gap created with the new millennium arriving and be in control of self, think independently and insure joy and peace in your life.
